‘EGO’- this is one of the silent barriers of communication. It creates a rift between two people. A small argument can become a huge obstacle creating a barrier in communication. You may think that what you are saying that is relevant and the person on the other side is wrong. This breeds an ego. And it leads to arrogance and misunderstanding. A major hindrance in communication is misunderstanding.
Now the big question is, WHO WILL SPEAK FIRST? No one takes the effort to break the ice. A tiny flake of ego snowballs into a huge misunderstanding.
At this point, what you need to communicate is to utter two simple words, “So sorry!” But that would require the willingness or initiative to communicate. One has to understand that social expressions are huge catalysts in the way of effective communication. Use them to patch up. Communication will automatically make its path and mend things!
